A Plane Found Inside This Restaurant

Inside The SM Branch of Pjoe's Diner
This is their sizzling beef...very small serving...

I asked the waiter if their bangus was boneless and he said "yes" and when I got my order, it's bony bangus! "What the heck?" Don't mess with me man...

The wall art _ SM Branch

Oh well, what I'm talking about here is the P'joes Diner. As far as I know there are 2 branches here in Cagayan de Oro. I googled it and this is what I found -- a short description of the restaurant.

"P'Joes Diner is setting a trend in Northern Mindanao, being the only aviation inspired Americal Style Diner restaurant in Cagayan de Oro. Now with its branch in SM Cagayan de Oro, Pjoes's Diner Jr. features a mini museum, an antique WW11 C-46 transport aircraft and a 4 place Beech light plane, unique landmarks of the city." (kagayan.com)

Talking about the food, let me say it's americanized because almost all of the foods are not natively found (haha). Seriously, I was not impressed of their food and most of all the kind of service they offer. Honestly, the SM branch is out of maintenance and the place has this soury smell inside. Their service crews are not trained well in serving their customers and one instance, they are being impolite and not paying attention to customers needs. Sorry to say this but I guess the owner/manager must take serious attention to this because this really affect the image of the restaurant. I don't hold any grudges on the establishment but this is only a friendly reminder because the owner/manager may not know what is going on with his employees.

Back to the food, well, still palatable but very small in serving and quite expensive compared to Bigby's that eventhough their prices are high, the food serving and the food quality gives justice.

I've never been to the Limketkai branch and I was hoping it will be much better compared to the SM branch. I'll try dining there this week with friends and let's see....

A (h1n1) Virus Hits Cagayan de Oro

It started from a rumor then it did really happened. The A(H1N1) virus already hit the city of Cagayan de Oro. According to the local news, there have been 10 estimated people who caught the virus. Another rumor is that about 40 students in Xavier University have the virus and the school is under quarantine at the moment. Actually, there is an advantage and disadvantage of this incident. The advantage is there will be no class for the students because the school won't open unless it's cleared and safe from the virus and the disadvantage here is that there will be no classes held for about 10 days and that's a lot of waste of time for the students. Well, for me, I always get happy whenever there is a no-class announcement because I'm a typical student..(haha) Sometimes school sucks but you have no choice but to think of your future and be forced to attend class. By the way, don't worry about the virus said the DOH (who is trying to keep the citizens calm as possible eventhough it has cost alot of lives in Mexico) because there's a cure for it already and that only those who have a weak resistance are prone to this virus attack (OMG! I don't have sleep for days now and I feel like my resistance's breaking down). Well, gotta take my Vitamin C for now. Keep healthy everyone and avoid gimmicks and crowded places for nows!

Turquoise Turkish Restaurant @ SM Cagayan de Oro

We've been here (Ming & I) after a very tiring grocery marathon. It was a marathon because there are bunch of people that day in SM grocery department that all the grocery carts are unavailable...good thing we've found one. The restaurant serves only Halal foods or foods that doesn't contain pork. I noticed Muslims are regulars here. My miming honeybunch sweetie pie loves the way they cook their food here too. He said that his beef steak doesn't taste like an ordinary beef steak at all -- a new taste according to him. I only ordered the barbecued chicken in which i remember it has a SHISH word of it written on the menu. (hehe..I'm ignorant of this turkish language really..sorry!) Again, the prices are at the reach of your budget...ranging price from 150 to 400 pesos as far as i remembered. Well, the serving is enough for a petite eater. Their fried rice is a must try. I've tasted a lot of fried rice but this one doesn't make me feel dizzy because i have this tendency of too much oil or fats, i get the dizzy feeling..hehe.

It was the beef delicacy that I forgot the name and next to it is the Turkish Relaxing Soup

The Chicken Shish I ordered (correct me if I'm wrong of the name of the dish)

The guy @ the back of this guy is the boss/manager/owner of this restaurant

Me outside Turquoise Restaurant and at the back is the American looking guy who seems like the owner of this restaurant. (not sure though..)

Kagay-Anon Restaurant - Truly Pinoy Dishes

It doesn't mean really that the foods here are originally from Cagayan de Oro. They serve popular Filipino dishes here like the famous sinigang na baboy (Pork Soup with the soury taste), Sinugba or grilled meat from fish, pork and beef. You can also order dishes made from Ostrich (but i never ordered hehe...I'm not an exotic type food eater). We actually visit this place everytime there is a birthday celebration because you can order various foods here and pretty much affordable that you can bring 7 people and you can only pay not above 3000 pesos. Also there servings are pretty big and if you're on the diet..better forget it here. But if you can't finish the food you can still do the Balut deed if you're bold enough to say it. But in times of crisis now...it doesn't matter really..It's being practical. Many are getting hungry and here you are wasting food.

Kagay-anon Restaurant located at Limketkai Center, Rosario Drive, beside the new Figaro Coffee Shop and Citibank.

My miming's favorite dish "Beef Steak"

Garlic Chicken good for 2

Grilled Tangigue my bestfriend ordered

The famous yummy Chicken Adobo

Teriyaki Boy in Cagayan de Oro

Finally, Teriyaki Boy opens its branch in Cagayan de Oro. It was located at SM Cagayan de Oro City. The Golden Yellow ambience is very soothing to the eye and I can say it's a good place to eat. The prices of the food are incredibly affordable from 150 pesos above. What's amazing here is that there Japanese rice will easily make you feel full so you will not have to order another extra rice. A good place for treating your honey or for the whole family. Try to visit the place and experience Japanese cuisine by not letting your budget at stake.

A wild guess: I think this one is the Katsudon. This one is a pork meal with some cheesy treats. YUMM YUMMM...

My honey ordered this pork dish and I forgot the name of this one but pretty sure he likes it a lot. He feels bloated and it's a happy feast.

Sorry but i really forgot the name of this meal. Not keen in remembering Japanese words.

2x Image size of the above meal

This is the only meal i remember the "Chibi Meal" or in other words the Kiddie Meal. Good while bringing your kids around. A total fun kiddie treat for them.

Kyla's Bistro

There's a new restaurant open @ Rosario drive, limketkai, cagayan de oro city. The resto design is modern and inside they mix their interior with native materials like what will be seen in the ceiling are coconut husk. Inside is airconditioned while those who love to puff they can stay outside.

About the rate of the food, they're pretty affordable and delicioso. Most of the foods ranged from P120.00 to 400.00. I guess that's a pretty low price compared to Bigby's which is located a few steps away from Kyla's Bistro.

T
he Babyback ribs my huney ordered. P160.00 +

Our bill - 2 heads ( We didn't drink Cola - not advisable for me now)
